Standard Chartered avoids ‘direct investment’ in ‘prohibited activities’, including nuclear weapons. They also avoids entire companies whose primary involvement is in Defence (defined as having 20% defence exposure). However this still means they are heavily invested in some nuclear weapons-producing companies for whom Defence is less than 20% of their business, such as Boeing.
